The Cabaniss Day Support Program provides structured day placement and training for individuals with intellectual or other developmental disabilities who may not be eligible for other training programs but who could benefit from social skills, pre-vocational and instrumental activities of daily living training. Programs are center-based (Ratio 1:4).
The goal of Cabaniss Day Support is to:
- Utilize community supports and services such as educational programs, contract work, recreational centers and public libraries.
- Develop social, recreational and leisure activity skills.
- Develop functional skills.
- Increase the individual's integration into the community.
- Teach individual's effective ways to interact in his/her environment.
- Develop self-esteem and self-worth.
- Develop friendships.
- Experience work-based opportunities
Participation Information
A Community Service Board, Behavioral Health Care Center, Social Services, Department of Rehabilitation Services or other like agencies, may refer individuals interested in attending Cabaniss Day Support. Families and agency representatives are welcome to tour the facilities at any time.
